Evening in Hoi An

After spending the day shopping, reading, editing photos and relaxing, we walked across town to pick up a jacket I had left at a tailor's for alterations. Hoi An is especially well known for its many tailor shops making custom clothing.  Some time ago I bought a travel jacket that I paid too much for, but never really liked because it was way too big.  I'd had some not very well done alterations attempted in Overland Park, but it still didn't fit. The tailor here essentially rebuilt the whole jacket in a few hours and charged me the equivalent of $10.00.  I felt guilty enough that I left her a tip.

Afterwards, we walked to dinner at Cargo, a restaurant with a second story terrace overlooking the river where we had another top-notch meal.  We've never travelled anywhere where the food has been consistently as good or as inexpensive as Vietnam.

Walking through town at night is a delight, as they close the old town area to automobiles and motorbikes at 3:00 PM.  On the way back to the hotel, I tried my hand at some night photography.

More tomorrow or the next day and more photos on my Facebook.
